The increasing competitiveness in the air transportation sector with the liberalization of civil aviation has significantly contributed to the growth of the sector globally. The growth and development momentum of the sector continues to increase as people prefer air transportation, which they find more reliable. As a result of our country following the developments in the aviation sector on a global scale, it has grown very rapidly in this field since 2003, enabling the sector to develop domestically at the same time as the global market. In this regard, our University’s School of Civil Aviation was established on June 23, 2009, in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2009/15037, with the aim of training qualified personnel for the growing aviation sector.

The school started its operations in the Ballıca campus of our University. It has been operating in its new building since December 2013. The Aviation Management department, which implements a 4-year undergraduate program, is in operation, and the Pilotage and Air Traffic Controller departments are still in the establishment phase. Necessary studies are continuing to enable these departments to accept students.

The Department of Aviation Management admitted its first students in the 2011-2012 academic year and produced its first graduates at the end of the spring semester of the 2014-2015 academic year. With its expert instructor staff accredited by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, laboratory environments required for practical training and being one of the two State Universities with an airport, it has quickly gained the desired place in student preferences.

In order to graduate from the Aviation Management program, a total of 240 ECTS credits are required. There is an internship requirement included in the department’s undergraduate program. The internship to be held at the end of the spring semester of the 3rd year must cover at least 30 working days.

All necessary social facilities are available for students on the college campus. It is also possible for our students to easily benefit from social facilities. In the campus area, there is a dining hall, canteens, cafeterias and a dormitory for 426 people affiliated with KHK.

The school has a sufficient number of computerized laboratories and libraries connected to the internet. Additionally, there are many licensed general-purpose and vocational programs that students can use on computers.

Civil Aviation School Graduates; They are equipped with basic aviation flight information, airport and terminal management, ground services, flight safety and business (communication, computer, human resources) knowledge. In this context, our goal is to ensure that our graduates are trained to be open to innovations in the field of aviation, to be able to constantly improve themselves, to adapt to existing systems in a short time, and to be prone to team work.
